Crafted in northern Italy, the Arlunnos have had vineyards in this area for a couple of centuries, but did not start the Cantalupo winery until 1969, when the region of Ghemme was given its own DOCG. A cru bottling from "Collis Breclemae," made from old vines in the best sections of the vineyards, the 2016 vintage is the benchmark for the entire Ghemme DOCG. Think a lighter style cru Barolo, with great complexity and depth, with sturdy tannins, vibrant acid and textured minerality. This is an outstanding, traditional style Italian red that captures the potential and pedigree of Nebbiolo.
